The TurnTo Story
We love it when we get to work with partners who make our other clients more successful, and with TurnTo’s robust reviews collection and content generation platform. With the release of Magento 2, TurnTo needed a new extension built that integrated their offering with the updated Magento platform.
When integrating TurnTo with Magento, we focused on making it as simple as possible for users to submit reviews for products. Users are able to add simple text reviews or they can upload photos along with their reviews.
Since many users don’t proactively return to an eCommerce site to write reviews, we ensured that TurnTo’s review request emails worked with Magento Commerce. TurnTo’s review request emails increase conversion rates by 100%.
TurnTo has a unique “Checkout Comments” feature—on the checkout confirmation page, users are asked “Why did you pick this?” for each product they ordered. Answers to those questions are then displayed on the product detail page. Users are 3-5x more likely to provide checkout comments compared to traditional reviews.
For SEO reasons, it was important that review content was embedded directly in the product detail pages (rather than being dynamically included after the page loaded). We accomplished this by loading and then caching review content when the product detail pages are loaded.
We wanted to make the process of installing and configuring the TurnTo Magento Commerce extension easy for merchants, so we published the extension on Github and added helpful “hints” on the configuration page.
